Hello! It has been rather a while since I was here. A combination of tech breakdown (RIP beloved MacBook Pro) and lack of time has left this little blog rather dusty.
So, this is just a short post to give you a quick update on a few happenings before I hopefully get back into the swing of blogging again.
The apples are alive!
You may remember that I moved allotments at the end of last year, digging up my four apple trees in the process. I’ve been worried all winter about whether they’d survive and just this week, they all blossomed! Well, all except my Court Pendu Plat – but it’s a late blossoming variety and its budding up nicely. So, needless to say, I’m thrilled and relieved. Whether all that blossom lasted through this week’s rain storms is another matter, but at least I know my apple trees are alive…
A month of books.
The death of my laptop has meant a slower month. I don’t have a TV and so without a laptop, I’ve been relying on an older form of entertainment: books! I’ve been in the mood for lots of fun, easy fiction and so I’ve whipped through books from a variety of authors including Sue Grafton and Gail Carriger, with Matt Haig’s novel The Radleys – about a family of vampires living in a Yorkshire village – as a particular highlight.
Non-fiction highlights include How to be a Productivity Ninja (terrible title, great book) and a bit of indulgence from Oprah – O’s Little Book of Happiness. I make no apologies for sometimes choosing easy over challenging as I think that one of the joys of books is that there’s one for any emotion…
We go to Copenhagen next month. I cannot wait and have spent an alarming amount of time doing online research and pinning pretty things to my Pinterest board. Have you been? Any travel tips for me?
I’ve been continuing to write up monthly Nourishing Goals, from my Unravelling Workbook by Susannah Conway. It’s completely working for me, and has changed how I see my year progressing and how I choose to spend my time. I highly recommend you join in with Unravelling at the end of the year; Susannah has mentioned recently that she’ll be running it again.
My skincare project.
One of the main things that I’ve been working on is my latest project. I’ve been torn between wanting to shout about it from the rooftops and wanting to keep it a secret until I launch – which could be a while yet! So, here it is… If you go over to my Instagram account, you’ll find more, but in a nutshell, I’m making a range of natural skincare. I’m completely in love with this project and cannot wait to launch it.
So that’s what I’ve been up to this month. How about you?
