Earlier this week, I blogged about having the freedom to review only brands and companies that I like. And so I’m happy to be confirming that by writing this post today. I was asked if I’d like to review some flowers from Appleyard London‘s Christmas collection and, as I’d really loved the ones I received earlier this year, I happily said yes please.
Christmas preparations have come late to our house. Whilst the rest of my world–through the lens of social media, at any rate–was happily putting up trees and decking the halls, we’ve been doing the washing up in the bath and coping with saucepans all over the dining room table. The reason for this? A recently discovered flood under the kitchen floor that led to the whole kitchen being ripped out, floor included. After getting the water pumped out, giant dryers were brought in and the whole house sounded like the boiler room of a cross-channel ferry as they noisily dried out the damp.
Needless to say, it’s been really stressful, especially for my parents and we’ve not felt terribly festive. But–hurrah!–the new kitchen is pretty much finished and we’ve finally got the dining room table free of a microwave and saucepans. Which is especially handy for me, as it’s the table I use as a home-worker…
So, we’re finally decorating the house – the tree is up, the hand-made Nativity is on display and we’ve got lights twinkling everywhere.
And, adorning the newly-clear dining room table, the beautiful Mulled Wine Arrangement from Appleyard, which made my mum incredibly happy. And making my mum happy is a good feeling. The flowers, stunning rich red roses, berries, and lush dark green foliage, complement Mum’s traditional Christmas decorating perfectly. It sits in a block of oasis, covered by a study plastic container, so it will last for days in the run up to Christmas Day when we’ll need to move it from the table to make way for turkey! We’re a huge fan of candles, so we’ve already had the central Church candle burning away merrily. It’s just lovely.
So thank you to Appleyard for helping us to start our Christmas off in a beautiful way. I’m really grateful.
Last order for Christmas delivery is 22nd December at 9pm for delivery on 23rd December, so you’ve still got time to order Christmas flowers for yourself or a loved one.
